AMAANA 6th Biennial Meeting & Reunion
AMAANA’s 6th Biennial Meeting and Reunion will be held in Gaithersburg, MD on Saturday, October 25th, 2025.
It promises to be a grand affair, attended by alumni and their families. The Chief Guest and keynote speaker for the event will be prominent entrepreneur, philanthropist, civic leader and writer, and AMU alum Dr. Frank Islam.
AMAANA has a tradition of honoring a person every two years during the biennial meeting who has worked hard to achieve excellence in their field of work. Our previous recipients include Dr Yusuf Hamied of Cipla who developed inexpensive AIDS medications; the cardiologist, Dr. Ashok Seth who helped with the establishment of Cardiac Cath lab at JNMC; the former Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor, the renowned virologist, Dr Shahid Jameel and the junior doctors and faculty at JNMC who were the true COVID warriors! This year, we chose someone who is not only one of the senior most alumni of JNMC (First batch!) but also a renowned philanthropist , a surgeon and the only JNMC student to become the President of the Student Union (in the third year of MBBS). Dr. Mohsin Raza is a distinguished medical professional and humanitarian whose lifelong commitment to surgery and social welfare has earned him a reputation as a tireless advocate for those in need.
The recipient of this year’s Distinguished Alumni Award is Dr Ashraf Khan, no stranger to us in AMAANA.
